Life is Normal

We are a private organisation providing support to adults with Learning Disabilities and Complex Health Needs in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Our Philosophy

At LiN Group, we believe adults with Learning Disabilities have the right to a person-centred service and to be supported in an environment of their choice.

We believe that Service Users have the right to live as normal a life as possible with minimum disruption so they have the best quality of life.

We strive to create and maintain an environment in which Service Users will be encouraged and supported to achieve their potential.

Our Mission

It is our organisation’s mission to provide residential services for people with Learning Disabilities, Additional Needs, Profound and Multiple Learning Disability (PMLD) and Complex Health Needs, regardless of their colour, race, gender or creed.

Each of our services in Edinburgh is designed to support the Service User’s individual needs. We do this by providing the conditions necessary for their physical, social, recreational, mental and spiritual well-being.

The service is registered with the Scottish Care Inspectorate for the regulation of support that we provide.

Our Aim

We believe that every individual, whatever his or her need, is a uniquely valuable individual and that people with complex needs should have the personal freedom to pursue their aspirations and take their own place in the world.

Our aim is to offer the service users:

  1. Recognition of their human rights.
  2. Standards of excellence in all aspects of care and support from both staff and volunteers.
  3. The support of a forward-looking and responsive organisation, aware of all the aspects of the service user’s needs
  4. The opportunity to take an effective part at every level in running our services effectively.
  5. Partnership in a continuing endeavor to help others, wherever the need may be, in the field of complex needs.
